When war, persecution, public health emergencies, or sudden disruptions place lives in danger, Tzedek Association responds with urgency, compassion, and practical action.

Rescuing Those Left Behind in Afghanistan

Following the collapse of the Afghan government in 2021, Tzedek assembled an international network to help women’s-rights activists, judges, interpreters, children, religious minorities, and other threatened individuals. Through dozens of operations, Tzedek ultimately helped evacuate more than 1,200 high-risk people.

Evacuating the Elderly, the Sick, and Children

When war began in Ukraine, Tzedek donated 33 ambulances to help move Holocaust survivors, sick children, fragile patients, and other vulnerable civilians away from danger and toward safety and medical care.

Bringing Stranded Travelers Home

During periods of war and disrupted commercial travel in Israel, Tzedek organized emergency rescue flights, coordinating aviation providers, government officials, airport authorities, donors, and volunteers across multiple countries.

Responding During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Tzedek worked with federal officials to protect medically vulnerable people and reunite families through responsible home confinement. It also helped individuals and families navigate urgent medical, legal, financial, and logistical challenges.

Building Unlikely Coalitions to Save Lives

Tzedek’s missions bring together rabbis and Muslim activists, elected officials and donors, ambassadors and volunteers, public figures and grassroots organizations. Compassion can transcend politics, religion, nationality, and background.
